Android 3.0 Honey Comb



This version was developed specifically for tablets.
This version was supporting multiple browser tabs replacing browser windows, updating the Google book, Chines handwriting, Gamepads and Joysticks.
Android 3.0 honey comb released on 22 February, 2011 With more updates i.e. 3.2 to 3.2.6 in between 10 may 2010 to February 2012.

Android 3.0 Honeycomb features five home screens that users can customize with application icons and widgets, including a search bar, calendar and three-dimensional stacks for grouping content. The Android 3.0 tablet operating system also comes with an assortment of applications, including an email client, tabbed Web browser that supports Flash , calendar and media players. In addition, Android Honeycomb tablet users can access the Android Marketplace to download third-party applications.

It accompanied Gingerbread in the features, making the Motorola Xoom as the first device to be launched with this Android version.

Android 3.2 update had more focus toward Android tablets.

Some basic UI changes and device support came with Android 3.1.

  • Google eBooks — Read Google eBooks on the device
  • Google Talk
  • Private browsing — In Private mode, no browsing data is saved
  • Clipboard — Copy content to clipboard
  • HTTP live streaming — For streaming videos
  • Media Transport Protocol (MTP) and Picture Transport Protocol (PTP)
  • UI improvements — New keyboard layout, see recent applications, etc.
